Based on the Group Final Paper, in APA format, students will develop a 12-15

slides PowerPoint Presentation to share their findings and analysis. The

presentation will be delivered on Week 10.

 

In the Final Paper, the students will do the following:

1. Chose a country (Note: Do not choose the US) 2. They will consider the economic question of taxes and how they affect

the economy.

3. What happens to the economy when the government raises or lowers taxes? 4. In answering the question, it is important to look at the topic from an

economic perspective rather than a political one, and to be sure to use

the knowledge they have gained in this class in formulating their

response.

5. Three resources obtained from outside research will be required to support their points, including a minimum of two from the databases

available at Stanton University Library.

6. The following questions should be considered when formulating their argument:

Fully describe tax structure and policies of the chosen nation.

1. What happens to net personal income when the government raises taxes?

When the government lowers taxes?

2. How is GDP affected by higher taxes? Lower taxes?

3. What other economic factors are affected when taxes are raised or

lowered, and how are they affected?

4. Should the government increase tax rates on everyone as a way to

equalize incomes and wealth?

Writing the Final Paper:

1. Must be a minimum of 12 double-spaced pages in length and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Stanton University Canvas

student resources.

2. Must include a title page with the following: a. Title of paper

b. Student’s name

c. Course name and number

d. Instructor’s name

e. Date submitted

3. Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.

4. Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought. 5. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
