41551Interview Assignment: Part 1 – Interview Guide – Week 4
In this project, students will interview a woman who is different from themselves in some way and analyze the interview in terms of Women’s Studies issues. Interviews can be conducted in person, over the phone or via skype.
• Student must present the person. Who will you interview and why? (include logistics information).
• When and how you will interview them?
• How they are different (and similar) to you?
• What specific topic within the field of women’s studies you are interested in discussing? Please see my chosen topic below.
• Why you think this may be interesting?
Interview guides should deal with a specific topic of interest related to the field of women’s studies.
• My chosen topic of interest: Perspectives on Rape and Sexual Assault.
2. Interview Assignment: Part 2 – Report – Week 6
Analyze the interview, discussing your interviewee’s responses in light of the materials we have been studying in class. Include your own response to the interview. This section will include direct links to the course using course concepts and readings. Paper should be 2-3 pages in length and also include direct quotes. What did you find most interesting about your interview? How do you differ from your subject? How are you similar? Were you surprised in any ways?
Introduction: Who did you interview? Why did you choose this person, how do they differ from you and how are they similar (are they similar)?
Relevant Issue: What is the issue that you chose to focus on in your interview? Explain the issues. How is it relevant to the course? Bring in 2 sources from the course in this paragraph.
Data: Discuss your results: In this section students should bring in direct quotes from the interview to explain how the person that you interviewed responded to the questions asked. What did you find out about your interviewee’s attitude’s concerning the issue at hand? Did their attitudes differ from your own or were they more in line with yours? Why do you think that this may be? Overall, what did you find most interesting and/or surprising about the interview? This section should include at least 3 direct quotes from the interview.
Conclusion: Tie it all together…what did you learn from this assignment?

Part 1 should be 1 page and clearly doesn’t need citations, however, part 2 should consist of 2-3 pages with citations. Please follow the instructions.
