Sam was charged with attempting to steal from a local bank. He pretended he had a gun in his pocket, but it was a water pistol. He was charged with attempted robbery. 2. Tim was charged with murder after being part of a large fight at a local bar. The deceased was attempting to grab Mike’s girlfriend and get her to leave the bar with him. Therefore, everyone attacked the deceased and started fighting, attempting to get him to leave the bar and leave Mike’s girlfriend alone. At least five people were part of the fight, all drunk, and all attacking the deceased. Both Tim and Mike hit the deceased with a chair, over the head, during the fight. The coroner states blunt force trauma was the cause of death. 3. Katie drove her car into a storefront, during a rainstorm that caused low visibility conditions. She has been charged with reckless driving. 4. Sal is charged with rape of Beth after a party where he got “too drunk to know” what he was doing. Beth agrees that Sal was quite drunk but states “he knew what he was doing.” Sal hit Beth several times and threatened to kill her if she did not have sex with him. The ER was able to confirm, through a rape kit, that Sal and Beth had intercourse. The ER nurse found bruises on Beth’s neck. Stan was charged with theft after going to the grocery store and realizing he did not have enough money with him. He took the price tags from ground beef and put them on the New York Strip steak. The manager saw him and called the police, who charged Stan with attempted theft right after Stan paid for the steak at the ground beef price. 6. Tina was driving to her boyfriend’s house, because they had had a fight earlier in the day, and she wanted to make up. In a text, she told him “I could kill you right now” after he had admitted he had been unfaithful. As she drove, she thought about how much she loved him and how they could work through their issues. Right as she was about to pull into Sam’s driveway, she looked down, as her phone text message noise sounded, and she hit Sam with her car. Tina was charged with murder.
