1. Highlight case features and Describe Ideas

- First, choose one of the , and highlight sentences in the description about the individuals development or learning which you think relate to this weeks chapter readings (e.g., for this week focus on Chapter 6 – learning, cognition, memory, and Chapter 7 – complex cognitive processes). You will focus your subsequent writing on these highlighted sections.
- Next, choose three theories/concepts from the chapter(s) that interest you and describe their main ideas in your own words (remember to cite!). Guiding questions for your summary may be what does this theory claim about development or learning? What are considered its strengths and limitations? How could it be helpful for understanding human development? Imagine you are writing for an audience that has never heard of the ideas before. Note that at this point, you do not need to decide whether the theories apply well to your case vignette: simply describe those that interest you.
2. Apply and Evaluate Ideas
Describe how you think the theories you have chosen apply to your highlighted sections of the case, providing support for your assertions. You should address both of these questions, for each of the theories:

- How does each theory/idea not apply well to the case vignette (e.g., how does it fail to explain some aspect of the case, its problems, or fail to solve its problems; what is missing)?
