The reason i decided to be a pa started out as a slight interest in the medical field. The more i started to learn about the body, the more hooked i became. Class after class, i left even more and more inclined to explore a position that would fit my lifestyle as a jewish woman. When l spent my year learning in israel, i was presented with the opportunity to be trained as a first responder and work alongside medics, and nurses all day ands night long. The program was a 10 day excelrated course which was taught in a different language. Once i completed training, i was out on the field from early mornings to the wee hours of the night. This was when i found the area in which i would like to specialize. The rush of havinf lives depend on you in such a timely fashion gives a personh a whole new feeling of purpose. You leave every shift feeling like you saved a life even with your minimal training. As far as medicine, I knew there was so much more that was left to learn, so much more i could offer patients besides blood sugar and blood pressure. Nonetheless, no matter how qualified you are, sitting ion the back of the ambulance with sick and elderly, frightened family, you learn how to provide the proper assurance and bedside manner that is incomparable. An experience like that gave me the knowledg eand high pressure envirnment, combined with the gentle touch and security that is absolutely imperative for patient care. I ended my year in israel with the motivation taht i dont think many people can say they’ve had. Every class, every core, and lab were viewed as little stumbling blocks tha i knocked down one by one eagerly, i did not waste any time. Once i started shadowning PAs, i got to experience the slower paced enviornment as well. Hours and hour sof shadowing taught me a new sense of purpose in a different way. Every person that comes your way can be served by you in a number of ways. The bottom line is is that they are coming to you, they are in need of your help. This can be done inh an ambulance, emergency room, or even a wellness visit. I still intend to specilize in emergency medicine but grew to be contempt with slower paced enviornment as well. I may not be in PA school yet, but the process of appklying has truly brought me to a better understanding of what the field is about and how i can channel my own unique self and skills to the world of medicine and patient care. Until this very day, i stand withthe same motivation, if not more, than the day that i started this journey. I have made it this far and look forward to surpassing the remaining barriers between now and the profession ive worked towards for years.  PA school became the perfect balance of what i was looking for.  PA school became the perfect balance of what i was looking for.
