Heuristics are “rules-of-thumb” or guidelines, that while not always necessary or desired in every situation, are often good rules to follow. A well-known Danish researcher, Jacob Nielsen devised a list of heuristics for designing usable experiences.
Using Nielsen’s usability heuristics [https://www.nngroup.com/articles/ten-usability-heuristics/], do a heuristic analysis of the simple interface. This could be a website, a mobile app or an interactive appliance in your home such as a Smart TV or home appliance.
Your analysis should utilize at 3 to 5 of the heuristics listed by Nielsen and you should have 2 to 3 points for each heuristic you feel the website or application is not adhering to.
