Hey Everyone,
The problem I will be addressing is the adverse effects Covid-19 has had on the fitness industry and decreasing gym membership retainment. My motivation for addressing this problem is that I want to become a trainer or fitness instructor even though I’m not currently working even though I’m not currently working. Since I have an athletic background, the gym has been a big part of my life since an early age. The most prominent aspect of the fitness industry is the community bonds that are formed along the way. From my personal experience, the more time I spend at the gym, the more people I meet, and the better the experience it is. From a health standpoint, working out isn’t only beneficial for your physical health, it also has a tremendous impact on mental health. Due to Covid-19 and all the lockdowns that came with it, people put on more weight due to lack of physical activity and constantly ordering in. In addition, being couped up in isolation had a negative effect on individuals’ mental health. The easy solution to these problems is to get people back in the gym. However, it is a lot easier said than done, and the spread of information can be beneficial in this position. There’s plenty of benefits that come along with gym association. The return of customers to gyms will allow gyms to be more successful, when gyms are more successful, they invest back in themselves with new equipment and amenities. The influx of customers will also benefit employees who will be granted more job security and pay options. Lastly, gyms will benefit the customer. These past two years have been difficult, I believe forming a community and focussing on your health is a great way to move forward through the pandemic.
