The Fourteenth Century Crisis

No unread replies.No replies.

The Crises of the Later Middle Ages (often called the "Fourteenth Century Crisis") was a period of economic, social, military, and human disaster. Based on your readings in this module, answer the following questions.

(1) In your opinion, which episode of this crisis was the most catastrophic — why do you feel that way?

(2) In your opinion, who was the most fascinating and/or influential person you encountered in the entire chapter — why do you feel that way?

In your response, you must explain your reasons, citing specific examples (points and arguments, not simply quotes) from the readings.

Please note that you are free to consult sources other than the class textbook.

REMEMBER: When writing your post, you must follow the guidelines that are outlined in the "Rubric" and under "Discussion Forum: How to Do It," both of which are found under the Discussion Forum module.

You must submit an initial post by Thursday evening at 8:00 PM. Your overall participation in the forum must be completed by Sunday at 8:00 pm. Understand that although the forum will remain visible after 8:00 PM on Sunday [strictly for the purpose of providing feedback, as has been explained], posts submitted after the 8:00 PM deadline [regardless if it is one hour late or one minute late] will not be scored.

●● “Specific examples” means demonstrating an ability to refer to specific points addressed in the readings. This does not mean filling up the post with quotations from

the readings. A post filled with quotes does not demonstrate an understanding of the issue or question.

●● Follow-up posts should elaborate by making reference to class materials (points raised in the readings) — not simply providing opinion or praise.
