Trend noun

Definition of trend

a : a prevailing tendency or inclination : DRIFT current trends in education

b : a general movement : SWING the trend toward suburban living

c : a current style or preference : VOGUE new fashion trends

d : a line of development : APPROACH new trends in cancer research

A trend simply reflects what seems to be going around at any given time. A trend can be

in any area and doesn't only reflect fashion, pop culture and entertainment. There can

also be a trend in the stock market to be bullish or bearish, depending on economic

indicators, or a political trend reflecting a nation’s current mood. Some trends are fun,

some fabulous, some appalling, but however long they last, you can be sure there will

always be a new trend coming along to replace the old. (vocabulary.com)

Instructions:

 For this assignment you will need to research and locate (3) Interior Design Trends.  The

trends need to be from the following categories, and you need to explore and present

both Residential and Commercial Design trends.

Materials & Finishes

Lighting

Technology

Sustainable Design

Construction

Design Process or Methodology

 You need to select (3) of these categories and find one trend for each.  You need to

represent both Residential and Commercial trends.  Dig deep, be creative!

 Prepare a PowerPoint presentation and make sure to think about all the issues we have

discussed and all the feedback you have received or heard from our other digital

presentations.  There is no number of slides requirement other than enough to cover

your research.

 Remember “we” are a visual group and presentation is as important as content.
