Select one of the four articles and do the questions asked. Total Page length of the research critique is 4 pages but i need rough draft first and after feedback continue on the final paper. I need the rough draft today.
Research Critique Overview The purpose of the research critique is to apply what you are learning to critically analyze a research article. For the critique you will choose one of the following four articles:
● Barnes et al. (2015). You wouldn’t like me when I’m sleepy: Leaders’ sleep, daily abusive supervision, and work unit engagement. Academy of Management Journal.
● Lievens et al. (2015). Understanding the Building Blocks of Selection Procedures: Effects of Response Fidelity on Performance and Validity. Journal of Management.
● Tong et al. (2015). Host country executives’ assessments of international joint ventures and divestitures: An experimental approach. Strategic Management Journal.
● Twenge et al. (2010). Generational differences in work values: Leisure and extrinsic values increasing, social and intrinsic values decreasing. Journal of Management.
Your critique should be approximately 4-5 pages in length, double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font or 2-2.5 pages single-spaced. Your assignment is to answer the following questions regarding the article you selected. The critique should address as many of these specific questions as possible and you should fully explain your answers. In cases where the article does not provide information on one or more of these questions, you should either (a) deduce the information from other information in the article or (b) describe how you would address the topic if you were conducting the study.
Questions Introduction/Statement of the Problem – Describe the issue investigated by the researchers.
● What is/are the research question(s)? ● How does the research question build on previous work done to address the problem? ● What are the hypotheses? ● Are the hypotheses clearly related to the overall research question?
Methodology – Describe the methodology the researchers used with terminology gleaned from this class. ● What are the independent and dependent variables? How many levels or categories is each? ● What are the moderators and mediators (if any)? ● What is the experimental design? ● Describe the sample. Is it a reasonable given the question the researchers were trying to address? ● What evidence is presented that the measures are reliable and/or valid? ● What controls were put in place for potential alternate explanations for the results? ● What threats to internal and external validity were present in the experimental design? Did the authors address
these threats?
Results – Describe the results of the study and how the author(s) came to those conclusions (You do not have to describe the statistics used).
● How generalizable are the results from the sample to the population?
Discussion/Recommendations – ● Were there additional limitations that you can think of that the authors didn't discuss? ● Did the authors consider alternative explanations for the results? Were there additional alternate explanations that
you found for the results? ● What were the major recommendations or conclusions? ● Were the recommendations and conclusions warranted given the information provided above?
Overall ● Considering your responses to the previous questions and any additional information, describe your overall
reactions to and evaluation of the study? Before you begin, make sure to review the Research Critique Grading Rubric in Canvas.
Research Critique Timeline By the end of module 12, you will turn in an initial rough draft of a research critique assignment, to which I will provide feedback in module 13. By the end of module 14, you will turn in a final research critique assignment.
