Following from the different assigned readings and resources in this module, you will examine narratives that construct persons with disabilities as inferior and less deserving of civil rights than able-bodied people. Consider how disability may intersect with race or gender in such a way as to multiply oppression, complicate the narrative, and create bias. Compare these kinds of narratives with those that construct women and/or people of color or those of lower socioeconomic status as second-class citizens. Consider the question from different historical perspectives or contexts.
