Initial posts: In Matthew 22:36-40, Jesus states the two greatest commandments as love of God and love of neighbor. He goes on to say that: “The whole law (Torah) and the prophet depend on these two commandments” (Matt 22:40). Initial posts will identify and explain a connection between this idea of love of God and neighbor as central to the Old Testament with other material we have read in the Old Testament. Be sure to make a unique connection with an Old Testament section or passage rather than one used by another peer in responding to this question.

Initial posts: Identify one section of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, which is found in Matthew 5-6. Use information from any part of the Reading Guide in order to make a connection and add clarity to your understanding of the section of the Sermon on the Mount you selected.

Initial posts: Select a parable in Matthew which is not selected by another student initially responding to this question. (Refer to the list in your CSB p. 1425.) Explain how this parable either corresponds to, or is different from, another part of Jesus’ teaching in Matthew’s Gospel.
