Thank you for your updated Research Outline – it’s length is significantly reduced – much more acceptable than he previous copy!
However, some questions remain:
1. The topic of your research has already beed researched quite a lot. So it is very important that you ensure you are making a special, unique, significant contribution, or it has no chance of being acceptable on a PhD level.
2. Companies typically use venture capital when they are in the “start-up” phase, plow back all their retained earnings early in their lives, and use an IPO when they want to get listed in order to obtain access to more capital markets (with more funds). For the rest they use retained earnings. If your research results conform to these aspects, have you made a significant enough contribution to be acceptable on a PhD level? This is debatable.
3. In your research outline I can’t see a description of your target population, which is important.
Of course you understand that the departmental Research Committee has to approve every application before a PhD candidate can register. Although we also have very limited capacity for new PhD students, every excellent application has to be evaluated on its own merit!
