The particular advertisement that I found was of a female holding a ketchup bottle. The advertisement is trying to convey the message that women can now open this new bottle cap because the older caps were to tight for them. The message is basically portraying that women of the 1950’s were not very strong. What examples are used to convey this message? The advertisement is stereotyping females to be weak and not strong enough to open the bottle cap. The advertisement uses a hard working mom and a tight bottle cap, the advertisement tries to show that females are weak and need someone else to open their bottles, but not anymore. The bottle cap is suppose to represent their barrier from being strong. Does the message fit a gender-role stereotype? Why?The message does fit a gender-role stereotype because during the 1950’s women were perceived to be weak and men are to be stronger. Even though the women works in the kitchen, the men were designed to to the heavy lifting and opening bottles. It basically is attacking the female and basically is showing the ketchup company had to redesign the bottle because females could not get bottle off before. Is the gender message consistent with your beliefs about gender? This gender message is not consistent with my beliefs about a gender. The times have changed and the female does as much as a male or even more. The media has also changed the views of a female and made them the same status of males. Thank goodness we live in a country where females are a equal to men, I know times were different in the past.Student 2https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqwjoVi2Ct8LavarI watched an Allstate commercial on YouTube called AllState Safe Driving Bonus Check and in it there is a man and a woman sitting at a table in a restaurant and she is showing him her safe driving bonus check talking about how he said men were more superior drivers than women, but she was the one with the check.  The actual check she is holding is an example of how she proved that not men are superior drivers to women.  There is a lot of misconception that women are horrible drivers and as the woman stated in the commercial the man has previously said that men were more superior drivers.  So, the commercial does include a gender role stereotype.  I personally do think men are better drivers than women because women are more likely to get into accidents because they multitask more in the car.  And before I discussed this with my girlfriend and she did agree with me.  After we talked about it, we came to the conclusion that men were more focused drivers than women.  This week alone I saw women putting on makeup, texting, talking with their cell phone up to their ear, eating, all while driving.  I am not trying to sound sexist and I am far from it, my girlfriend had even agreed with me when we talked about this but those were the observations that I had made.  I did some research and it was said that men were more likely to get ticketed for reckless driving or drunk driving and women were more law abiding (Edgerton, 2011).CoopReferencesEdgerton, J.
