Obtain a copy of the Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) from your school to review. Have a collaborative discussion with your principal mentor regarding the plan, addressing the following:

1. Needs Assessment
   • Was a needs assessment conducted prior to creating the CIP?
   • Who was involved in assessing the needs?
   • What needs were identified? What data/evidence supported the assessed needs?
   • How do these needs correlate to student outcomes?
2. Plan of Action
   • What are the goals/desired outcomes of the CIP? Do the goals/outcomes adequately address the identified needs?
   • What specific action steps or strategies were identified to achieve the goals/desired outcomes?
   • Who is involved in the implementation of the action steps?
   • How will this plan improve student outcomes?
3. Monitor Plan of Action
   • What measures are being used to monitor/evaluate progress?
   • What is the timeframe for evaluating progress?

With your remaining hours, shadow your principal mentor, observing and participating in leadership activities. Review the "Field Experience Sample Activities," located in the Student Success Center, for examples of leadership activities that would be particularly beneficial.

Following your field experience, complete a 250-500 word reflection on your collaborative discussion regarding the CIP and your experiences shadowing your principal mentor. Incorporate PSEL standards into your reflection and describe how you will apply what you have learned to your future professional practice.

While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and PSEL standards should be referenced using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
