Health disparities are the existing differences among populations in the attainment of health services or care. Mostethnic groups in the US do not receive all the health care they need in their life. On the other hand, the poor people are not able to receive all types of health care they need because of Poverty.The rich and high-income people receive all types of health care and its services. These types of exiting differences among the populations of the country show the health inequalities.
Health disparities are the “systematic differences in the health of groups and communities occupying unequal positions in society” (Baciu A et al, 2017). Lack of nutritious food, differences in all types of health care services, inequality of housing standard, low life expectancy, and so on are the cause of health disparities. Based on the National Interview Health Survey, “13.2 percent of Native Americans report being in fair or poor health” (Baciu A et al, 2017). On the other hand, nutritious disparities are also one of the causes of health inequity. To address that health inequity, I will implement all types of strategies directly in the community such as community engagement in the development, community health care program, creating job opportunities, and so on. Moreover, developing structures, addressing different determinants of health existed in society, and partnering with socialorganizations are some other plans to end health inequity.
The lack of quality and healthy food is known as nutritious disparities. As a leader, to end the disparity of nutritious food, I will address the socio-economic factors at first. Many people lack nutritious food because of poverty or low income thus, providing job opportunities or good income sources is one of the solutions to nutritious disparities. On the other hand, I will collaborate with the community organization and make a policy that enables all people to access nutritious food. Availability of different kinds of quality food within the community will also help to reduce food disparities. In this way, I will solve the problem of food disparities that existed in the community as a leader.
