When I think about the leadership truths from Kouzes and Posner (2010), the five that really stand out to me are credibility, thinking about the future, trust, leading by example, and always being willing to learn.
Credibility is a big one for me. I’ve seen too many leaders say one thing and do another, and people catch on to that fast. A good example for me is Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. He’s known for being humble and consistent, and that’s the kind of leadership people respect. Focusing on the future matters because nobody wants to follow someone who is only worried about today.
