Competencies
In this project, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following competencies:
Describe the factors that influence one’s perception of social justice
Examine the impact of intercultural competence on collaboration and communication
Utilize interpersonal communication strategies to navigate conflict
Overview
In this course, you’ve explored your identity and how it relates to justice, fairness, and equality—in the classroom, your community, and your personal and professional life. For this project, you’ll focus on key aspects of social justice and intercultural competence. You’ll also reflect on how you use communication and collaboration skills to handle conflict in both personal and professional settings.
Directions
Scenario-based learning lets you apply what you’ve learned to a realistic situation. Start by reviewing the Project Scenarios document linked in the Supporting Materials section below. Choose one scenario to focus on for your project. Read all the scenarios carefully. You’ll use the same one for every part of your Project Template.
Using the Project Template, respond to each section based on the scenario you selected. Your responses should show your understanding of social justice, cultural fluency, self-awareness, the value of intercultural collaboration and communication, and strategies for handling conflict. Be certain to include any feedback from your instructor to strengthen your final submission.
