For your final assignment, reflect on what you have learned in this course, your nursing practice, your vision for future practice, and write your personal philosophy of nursing. Your reflection essay should include:
• your personal and professional beliefs, values, and assumptions regarding the metaparadigm of nursing (person, health, environment, and nursing). [It may be helpful for you to reflect on actual patient care situations in order to clarify your professional beliefs, values, and assumptions about the 4 areas: person, health, environment, and nursing.];
• the areas of cultural sensitivity and spirituality; • your vision for leadership in advanced nursing practice (how you may expand your current
philosophy as an MSN prepared nurse), and • other key elements from this course.
This may sound like an all-encompassing project but it is not meant to be insurmountable! You may have written one of these at the BSN level. If that is the case, please review it and see what may have changed since the time it was written.
Organization of the paper should include an introduction with a thesis statement and a conclusion that summarizes the paper. The body of the paper needs to flow logically however you are free to configure it as you wish. Your APA-style reflection essay should be 5-8 pages in length.
