support the writing with other investigation For this week’s discussion I have chosen a scholarly reviewed article that focuses only in the alleviation of pain through the use of the cannabis. This study by Hill, Palastro and Ditre is based on a qualitative review of the existent literature, such literature range from ten to two years of published at the time of the main article publication and involved different points of views regarding the use of medical marijuana in the treatment of pain, acute and chronic (Hill, Palastro, Johnson & Ditre, 2017). The use of this substance as an alternative in the treatment of pain and other conditions is not new; actually it has been used for the humanity for several centuries. This study has the purpose of reviewing the existent literature to find out if the use of the cannabis has been proven to result in an alternative solution for analgesia in those patients that suffer from acute or chronic pain. The method used was simply the review of the literature existent in the PubMed/National Library of Medicine database (Hill, et al. 2017). The current research is not based on a preexistent study but it does use the same method and design from previous reviews: the study and analysis of the existent literature in order to reach a feasible conclusion. In this case, as other studies, the result is not conclusive and recommendations are made in order to better understand the impact of medical cannabis in the improvement of health and wellbeing of those patients that suffer from chronic and/or acute pain (Hill, et al. 2017). The method used for this research was the simply review of the preexistent material, which means that the main analysis is based on a preexistent study, thus at this point, and based on the used sources, the writers of this research may say that the results are not conclusive but they show some evidence that the use of the cannabis as an alternative treatment for pain may be somehow effective, based on the literature review (Hill, et al. 2017). Even though the evidence is low, there is no evidence to prove that this alternative is prejudicial to the health of the individuals (Hill, et al. 2017). In my opinion, this study is appropriate for what it seeks since it only pretends to review the existent researches in order to get a better vision of the benefits of the use of the cannabis to treat pain, based on the existent literature. Even though further studies are needed to have a definitive opinion, pioneering researches such the present are needed in order to motivate further investigation for this, which I consider an alternative solution to the actual opioids crisis.
