It aides in controlled preventable hospital admissions and improves quality of health. Telemedicine allows digital monitoring to be sent directly to healthcare providers. Continuous daily monitoring of basic self-assessments allows HCP’s to intervene before complications arise. HIT, “improved patient outcomes or satisfaction, reduced need for in-person visits, better disease management, bolstered patient-provider relationship, high quality data, patient empowerment, ease of use, predictability of exacerbations” (Sharp, 2019). Monitoring patient data through telemedicine also bridges the gap between hospital and home. It allows continuous monitoring and communications with HCP.
