I chose classical for a few reasons. Economics theories and biological theories have certainly been effective in explaining increases in homicides in our city. Those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and those with mental health issues have been over represent in recent years. However, classical theories focus on deterrence and punishment and less enforcement has experienced a significant evolution in recent times.
