Collaborating with the patient and a dietitian on meal ideas can assist the client to reach their optimal level of nutritional health. Focusing on ideas that are beneficial to preventing secondary cancers and/or the specific cancer developing again will be most appropriate for the patient. Avoiding alcoholic beverages, processed foods, and identifying what the patient can tolerate is essential to the individualization of the plan of care (Silvestri, 2017).2). Identify another member of the interprofessional team that could play a role in the cancer survivorship care for this patient. Explain the role of this interprofessional team member.– Another member of the interprofessional team that could participate would be Fertility specialist. The patient is 22 years of age and with the treatment of chemotherapy and radiation he could suffer from reproductive complications such as azoospermia, which is the decreased presence of spermatozoa (Hinkle & Cheever, 2018). The fertility specialist can offer education and implement treatments to reduce the risk of experiencing complications. Bringing in a specialist like this would also be beneficial before the start of treatment so that the intervention of preserving sperm in a sperm bank prior to treatment can be done (Hinkle & Cheever, 2018).
