Tina F. is the school nurse at Warner Elementary School. One of Nurse Tina’s responsibilities is to provide health education to students. With glitter representing germs, Nurse Tina will pour a small amount of glitter into every other student’s hand. Then, “glitter” students will shake the hands of “non-glitter” students. The class will see that the glitter will spread to the new student’s hand, just as germs are spread when hands are not washed properly. To end the lesson, Nurse Tina will have all students wash their hands one by one as Nurse Tina supervises and corrects the students if they make a mistake in the process.
